Twilight
As twilight in lush fox's fur
leaps across to heaven's shores,
her rusty tail entangles her
in a hedge of prickly stars.
A hard pull, she runs free and yet
she dribbles hot blood underneath,
and earth, this mewling leveret
escapes her slowly slackening teeth.
